Simply Drawing with Ochre Lawson
Learn to draw using the wonderfully expressive medium of charcoal and various other drawing mediums. Anyone can learn to draw and this course will encourage students to truly observe using genres including still life, natural landscape, interiors and the figure. Different techniques will be demonstrated including mark, gesture, measurement, space, composition, tone, contour and proportion. Beginners to intermediate.
Expressive Drawing with Ochre Lawson
Express yourself through drawing by studying famous historical and contemporary artists and learning new techniques. Beginning with observational drawings of a range of subjects students will learn about gesture, mark making, abstraction, composition, colour, form, line and texture and how to find their own expression in their mark. Practicing artist Ochre Lawson will give demonstrations in how to use a range of drawing media such as charcoal, ink, watercolour and pastels and how to combine them effectively. Life Drawing with Ben Smith
Come and learn the essentials of anatomy for artists. Through years of experience Ben Smith has filtered the 600+ muscles of the human body down to the most important 28. Each week a new section of the body will be looked. With the help of a live model and a little practice, you can remember them all!

Drawing the Figure with gesture with Ochre Lawson
Learn to create accurate and dynamic drawings of the human figure using tried and tested methods. Various materials and techniques will be demonstrated each week to provide beginners with guidance and more experienced students with new options. Course fee includes life model.

Painting and Drawing on Saturday with Chris Rochester
The focus of this class will be on the student's individual interests using references from the history of art to inform individual practice. Depending on the interests of the class we will explore landscape, still life, portraiture and abstraction. Transcriptions, collage and mixed media techniques will also be discussed. Students will be encouraged to explore and experiment with their own style through an understanding of traditional and contemporary techniques.
