We will learn about the differences between naïve, outsider, folk and vernacular art forms and we will focus on painting subjects and narratives that are meaningful to the student. These will include developing paintings from dreams, events that have happened in one’s life, fantasies or even scenes from stories. Childlike charm and honesty will be encouraged over an attempt to develop a more ‘sophisticated’ and ‘serious’ approach.
